This is our 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser LJ70 2.4L Turbo-Diesel, called Karl-Heinz Kampfhammer!
The rooftop tent Desert I by Horn Tools was our most expensive investment so far, except, of course, for the car itself 🙂 In case we encounter bad weather, we also bought the awning which can be zipped on to the tent, providing us with shelter for cooking and relaxing.
In order to create more storage space, we also made a baseplate for the roof onto we screwed two 63 liter aluminium boxes. We also attached two 20 liter dieselkanisters to extend our range by approximately 350 kilometers.
We installed an awesome LED-bar on the front bumper to add some more light to the rather weak stock headlights. In the rear we have another LED light to help us set up the campsite.
In the back of the car we placed a wooden DIY shelf where we store the second battery, water containers and some boxes for the rest of our gear.
Currently we are driving with the stock tyres, but they will be replaced with BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres very soon.
